Organizer guide

Selling tickets online

Selling tickets online means getting paid before the night rather than on the night. You create your event, set your prices in FCFA and share a link: buyers pay by Mobile Money or card and get a QR ticket on their phone.

This guide is for organizers in Abidjan and across Côte d'Ivoire — concerts, shows, conferences, parties, tournaments. It covers going on sale, which payment methods to offer, how door control works, and when the money actually reaches your account.

Putting your tickets on sale

Going on sale takes four steps: create the event (title, venue, date, artwork), define your ticket types and prices, publish, then share the link. There is no storefront to build, no developer to pay and nothing to install on your phone.

Each ticket type carries its own quota. When it sells out it closes itself: you cannot sell more places than the capacity you declared, which removes overbooking and the arguments at the door. You can open a new type at any time if the room allows it.

Multiple ticket types
Standard, VIP, early bird, two-day pass: each has its own price, quota and sales window.
Door sales
The box office also takes Mobile Money, drawing on the same stock as online sales — the counters never disagree.
One link everywhere
The same link works on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and over SMS. That is the primary sales channel here, ahead of any search engine.

The commission is taken on the organizer side, only on tickets sold, and the buyer pays the price shown. See full pricing

Which payment methods to offer

In Côte d'Ivoire the vast majority of buyers pay by Mobile Money. Offering card only means excluding most of your audience: card stays useful for the diaspora and for companies, but it is not the main rail.

Buyers pay the price on the label, with nothing added at the payment step. Hidden fees discovered at the last step are the single biggest cause of cart abandonment — the advertised price is the amount debited.

Accepted payment methods

  • Wave
  • Orange Money
  • MTN MoMo
  • Moov Money
  • Visa / Mastercard
  • Wallet TiketBurst

All payments settle in FCFA, with no exchange fees.

Control at the door

Every ticket carries a QR code that is valid exactly once. At the door your staff scan it with an ordinary Android phone: the ticket turns green, and a second presentation of the same code is refused. That is what makes photocopies and screenshots useless.

The scanner works offline. It downloads the ticket list before doors open, keeps validating with no network, then syncs as soon as the connection returns. In a packed venue, where 4G drops exactly when everyone arrives, that is the difference between a queue that moves and a queue that stops.

Multiple doors
Several staff can scan in parallel on different entrances without the same ticket being accepted twice.
Live count
You track admissions in real time: how many people are inside, and how fast they are arriving.

When you get your money

Takings are held in escrow through the event and released automatically 24 hours after it ends. You then withdraw to your Mobile Money or bank account whenever you choose.

That delay protects both sides: the buyer knows a refund is still possible if the event is cancelled, and you are not funding a refund out of money you have already withdrawn. Larger withdrawals require identity verification — a regulatory obligation, not added friction.

Selling beyond the room

A venue has a fixed number of seats; a live stream does not. You can sell online passes alongside the in-person event, on the same night, without adding a seat, a security guard or a parking space.

That is especially true for the diaspora, for whom travelling was never an option. Online passes usually sell for less than the physical ticket, and remain extra revenue on an event you are already running.

Frequently asked questions

Is there anything to pay to get started?

No. Creating the event and going on sale are free: the platform only takes a commission on tickets actually sold. Sell nothing, pay nothing.

Can I sell tickets without a website?

Yes, and that is the usual case. Your event gets its own public page, and the link shares straight to WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook. No site to build.

How do I stop fake tickets?

Every QR code is cryptographically signed and can only be validated once. A screenshot forwarded to someone else will not pass a second time at the door, and an invented code is rejected immediately.

What if I have to cancel the event?

You can refund buyers in full or in part from your dashboard. Refunds go back to the original payment method within 1 to 3 business days.

Can I still sell at the door on the night?

Yes. Door sales take Mobile Money and draw on the same stock as online sales, so your counts stay correct and you do not oversell the room.

Do I keep my buyers’ contact details?

Yes. You get the attendee list and can message them about a schedule change, a reminder before the event, or your next date.
